Our story

Bürr Bakehouse was born from a deep love of traditional baking and the desire to create a space where people can come together around true craftsmanship. In our artisan bakery and café, located in the vibrant Zuid in Antwerp, we bring bread, pastries, and dishes to life every day with attention to quality, simplicity, and character. Everything we do is guided by three core values: craftsmanship, tradition, and experience.

Tradition runs deep. We grew up with the smell of freshly baked bread, cooking with family, and recipes passed down through generations. These values and rituals are the heart of what we do. By using natural fermentation and sourdough, we stay true to a method of baking that has existed for centuries – and remains just as relevant today.

Craftmanship means working with our hands, with care, and with respect for the process. Every loaf is kneaded, shaped, and baked with precision. We use only organic ingredients, with no artificial additives. Our bakers know the dough inside out and you can taste the difference. Everything is made on a small scale, prioritizing quality over quantity.
